PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER

This hands-on training program provides students with the current concepts, principles and practices used in Personal Support Work in Canada. Students acquire the necessary skills to respond to emotional and physical needs of residents and clients who are under their care. As a result, successful graduates find employment in: Community Health Care Agencies, Long-Term Health Care Homes, Retirement Homes, Hospitals, Schools, Adult Day Programs, Private Duty, Hospices and Group Homes.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 Diploma (or equivalent ) or
  • Mature Student Status
  • Good Command of the English Language
  • Medical Form Completed by a Doctor
  • Police Clearance

  • 44 week program – instructor-led (including 22 weeks of Clinical Placement)

NACC stands for National Association of Career Colleges. All PSW students are required to write the NACC PSW exam at the end of the program. Once you pass the NACC exam, you will receive a PSW diploma and a NACC PSW certificate which will enable you to work anywhere in Canada.

CLINICAL PLACEMENT

Following successful completion of the in-class training period, A1-Global Training Institute will arrange a practical clinical-placement in a Long Term Care Home or Community Health Care facility.
